Oil Painting

I have always wanted to try to Oil Paint and i was at the wonderful store of Michael's and decided to get some!

This is my second picture i have made with Oil Paints and i love the depth, shading and texture that can be made.

I also learned that they do dry a little lighter then when first painted as you can tell by my two pictures.

The trick with them is it takes a LONG time to dry, which is really nice if you want to come back to it and work latter, but they stain really easily... so having a designated spot out of the way can secure your painting in not getting ruined.

I put mine out on our covered deck for a couple days in the sun and it also helps get the smell out some too!

Now i just need to touch up the edges then hang it up!

Music Flowers

I learned to make flowered roses which are amazingly simple!! I used extra sheet music and hot glued them to wire to make each single rose.
Then i put layers of rocks and foam into an old empty jar with tissue paper. After that i started to fill in the jar with roses then candy on kabob sticks put some ribbons around it and wala- a senior gift for my band teacher!
